Girl In Philadelphia Injured After Worker Falls Through Roof

Most people expect that when leaving their child on the couch in the living room to watch cartoons, they do not have to worry about that child’s safety. Unfortunately for one little girl’s family, this was not the case.

The accident occurred in an apartment in Philadelphia at an apartment complex on 8875 Krewstown Road. A construction worker was working on the roof of the building when he fell through, leaving a 5-foot hole in the ceiling with debris flying everywhere. Worse, he happened to be right above a young 12-year-old girl when this occurred. Some of the debris flew into her head and other parts of her body, possibly breaking some bones.

She was taken to the hospital and, at time of writing, is still being evaluated. The family was not warned to vacate the apartment while the work was being done. The worker who fell through the ceiling was not seriously injured.

Typically, a Philadelphia Construction Accident Attorney is required when a construction worker is injured. But they may also be required if a bystander is injured from the negligence of a construction worker as well. After suffering those injuries, there are likely significant medical bills and a long recovery time.

In order to be compensated for the physical injuries as well as the economic losses, a construction accident lawsuit most likely has to be brought. However, it may not immediately be clear who to bring it again, such as the worker himself, his employer, the company’s insurance, anyone else who the worker was working for at the time or even the owner of the building where the accident occurred. For that reason, it is best to seek out assistance as soon as possible.

Recovering from an accident, no matter what type is a long and difficult process. Seeking out help is often the best way to have the recovery go as smoothly as possible.
