Tragic Car Accident Claims Lives Of Philadelphia Newlyweds

When a Philadelphia couple got married on May 26 and made a lifelong commitment to each other, they didn’t know at the time that their lives would be cut tragically short.

The 26-year-old and 25-year-old teachers were killed in a motor vehicle accident in North Carolina on Sunday when the town car they were riding in left the roadway and collided with a tree. The couple, who first met at the University of Pennsylvania, were in North Carolina for a friend’s wedding.

The accident occurred on Interstate 26 when the 45-year-old driver lost control of the vehicle for a reason that remains unknown, though a warrant application filed by police stated that the driver’s actions “directly contributed to the collision.”

The wife died at the scene of the accident and the husband was pronounced dead at the hospital. The driver of the vehicle was hospitalized with injuries.

The story turned even more tragic this week when it was learned that the wife was pregnant with the couple’s first child. Now the families of the newlyweds are left dealing with their grief and the swirling questions around what went wrong.

If negligence was to blame for the accident, it is possible that the families could file a wrongful death claim against the driver or his employer.

Although a wrongful death lawsuit can never take away the pain of losing a loved one in an accident caused by another person’s negligence, some families find that it offers a sense of justice and closure.

Additionally, a wrongful death lawsuit can offer the family the financial support they need during this difficult time.
