Injured Workers File Lawsuit Against Driller

Two workers who were injured in a February 23 workplace fire are suing a western Pennsylvania drilling firm as well as two subcontractors. According to the report, the EPA said the driller failed to properly manage flammable byproducts prior to the fire. The men were injured when 5 storage tanks of liquid condensate ingnited.

An attorney for the workers said that the drilling firm knew of previous fires, injuries and deaths caused by natural gas vapors, but despite that knowledge, did not protect the workers from harm.

When employers fall short of their responsibility to keep workers safe, it can lead to death or very serious injury, including head or spinal injuries, serious burns, amputations, broken bones, chemical exposure and more.

Anyone injured in a workplace fire or explosion would be well advised to hire an experienced worker’s compensation attorney. Cherry Injury Law represent workers throughout Pennsylvania who need help securing the workers’ compensation benefits they’re entitled to. Collecting workers’ compensation payments often means you may not file a workplace accident lawsuit against your employer. But, when a third party is partly responsible for the injury you may still file a workplace injury lawsuit while collecting workers’ compensation.
