Philadelphia Boxing Brothers Hurt In Car Accident

Last week, it was reported that twin boxers, who were once the pride of Philadelphia in the sport, were seriously injured in a motor vehicle accident in Montgomery Township. Apparently, the 1996 Ford Explorer that Rock and Tiger Allen were driving was the only car involved.

It was reported that Tiger Allen had been driving at the time of the accident, which involved the car going off the road on Bethlehem Pike and crashing into a tree. Both brothers, who are 29-years-old, were taken to different local hospitals by helicopter.

The Philadelphia Inquirer reported that Rock Allen is being treated at the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania, where he remained in “serious condition” as of last Thursday.

The Inquirer reported that Tiger Allen remained in the intensive care unit at Hahnemann University Hospital as of Wednesday of last week, and they were not able to get an update on his condition on Thursday.

As some probably remember, the brothers were once well-known in the boxing world and were Olympic hopefuls for the 2000 games. However, both were disqualified when it was alleged that Tiger, who was lighter at the time, tried to weigh-in for Rock. Neither brother has been active in the sport for the past couple of years, the Inquirer reported.

Motor vehicle accidents are all too common in the Philadelphia area and can be very overwhelming for the victims and their families. From medical bills, to insurance coverage, to rehabilitation, there is a lot to worry about and many bases to cover.

This is why it is important to turn to someone with experience who can guide accident victims and their families through the process. This is also why it is a good idea to consider upgrading your insurance to better protect yourself and your family, in case a car accident is an unfortunate part of your future.
