Worker Falls To Death In Empty Water Tower Near Philadelphia

Whenever a worker is injured on the job, it is always difficult to get back to work and often times, the family can suffer from the lost income. However, when a worker is unfortunately killed at the workplace, it does not take asking workplace injury lawyers in Philadelphia to know that both emotional and financial losses can be devastating.

Unfortunately, this is the case for one family who lives near Philadelphia. A 31-year-old man fell to his death inside of an empty water tower. Another worker was involved as well. That worker spent three hours suspended in midair by his safety harness and was eventually rescued by firefighters.

The worker who died suffered multiple injuries from the fall which resulted in his death. Although this incident is currently considered an accident, it is believed that the worker’s equipment may have malfunctioned which resulted in his death. In addition, the company he worked for had been investigated by OSHA three times already, one of which was for another workplace death in 2008 where fines were paid.

When a family member is lost in a workplace injury, there is always substantial emotional loss. However, there is also financial loss as well, and for that, consulting with a fatal workplace accident lawyer could help to figure out who was responsible. There are many more parties that may responsible for the accident. It could be the employer, but also the manufacturer of the equipment if something happened to malfunction. Depending on the specific facts in the case, it could also be the owner of the site, the insurance carrier as well as other parties who may have been involved.

No matter who is deemed responsible for a workplace death, it is never easy to get over it. However, seeking out help with the financial loss is usually the first step in moving on.
